Hooked on FB?

Am I, or am I not, hooked on Facebook?

being the good person that I am, i consider every comments passed onto me, and started pondering if I have become one of those already ''hooked" on FB..

my number one reason on why I often log on to FB-  just love it when I get to see my old friends on Fb. the best part being, planning and having a reunion, seeing the joy on our faces, and the many things that we wanted to share, after 18 years of not meeting.

Fb to me is not just as means of finding old friends, it has also been my source for information. I have a friend whose wife is very sickly and he updates us on his wife's conditions in FB. I also have another friend whose husband is suffering from lung cancer.  we have been out of touch for so long, but she found me on Fb, and she too, now and then tells us of her hubby's condition.

Not forgetting those photo albums we put on Fb, sharing our unforgettable moments, interesting holidays with our friends on FB. and those funny photo comments..they do liven up my day..

as much as i value catching up with my friends on FB, i dont think i have become "hooked" - this word means chatting away in the wee hours of the morning/ feeling the need to log on to Fb that one would actually have no time for the children.. etc.

proof that FB is just a favourite thing to do - today i taught my son to read, and he can now spell M-A-M-A..(so i'm not neglecting my kids, in fact i did not FB at all during the day). of course on top of all this, i did the cleaning, did the laundry, revised my article, called the tuition teacher, cooked bubur lambuk.. enough said, fact is, I'm still at a healthy state when it comes to FB.

Loveliest birthday gift

I just turned 36. and here's what the love of my life gave me..err actually i asked for a surprise gift, like diamond ring ke, handbag dior ke (i showed him which one i like, so if he were to "surprise" me, it would not be so much of a "surprise", but it would certainly be a pleasant "surprise") but being the practical man that he is, he said nanti if he were to pick and choose what to buy, i tak suka pulak.. walaupun sebenarnya i adore anything with diamonds, or any handbag with the D-I-O-R tag
since i also wanted an eau de parfum, we went looking and smelling every scent there is at the perfume counters..and finally decided that this is the scent that he would want to inhale, every morning when i send him to work, every evening when i fetch him from work, every kenduri that we attend, every movie that we go to..(begitulah sukanya dia terhadap scent of this perfume that he wants me to put in on All the time..hehe)
anyway, thank you sayang. i love it as much as you do.
ada lagi satu gift, but still loking for the pic.

New year resolutions

Dear God, Help me to achieve these in year 2009:-

1. To eat (healthily...minus the times when there's nasi kandar, ABC and JCo donuts);

2. to think positively - on all matters i.e the never-ending housework and my tiring body due to the housework....

3. to wake up earlier (so that Iris will reach school early and dont have to kutip sampah). easier said than done, coz our apartment is just so cool that we feel the coolest thing to do is to stay in bed; on top of this, our apartment is also cold, coz its by the hills, that when we're in bed, we always want to stay in bed....get it?

This year, I also pray for the following:-

well-being of myself, my hubby, my kids;
may my kids do well in school;
that my hubby and I will live a life full of love and understanding, and if its the best for us, may God let us share our lives until Loreal hair dye could no longer hide our ubans, and Botox would no longer be effective for our wrinkles; and that we live long enough to see our children grow.

and Dear God, let us be strong and healthy, coz we love travelling so much and would want to *see the world as long as our bodies (and our bank accounts) allow us to....

* dream destinations and what I picture myself doing once I get there:- bracing the cold weather of Scotland during winter, chilling out on the Hawaiian beaches, posing by the geysers in New Zealand, watching the rice terraces in Bali..ahhh...bestnya berangan..

The sweetest thing

The sweetest thing a man can do:-

1.In the spirit of raya, cook laksa johor on Hari Raya Haji because his wife is pregnant, having morning sickness and cannot cook

2. declare to friends that he is grateful to have studied in the UK, coz if he did not have that opportunity, he wouldnt have met his wife

The sweetest thing My man is going to do:

Buy me a Coach scarf (the ori one from Coach store in the Gardens) that I have been eyeing tapi belum beli because its still not at a discounted price. Lagi sweet coz the scarf is in my favourite colour...Thank you darling..(tapi birthday present nak handbag Dior ye Yang ;))

(FYI, I cant seem to copy and paste the Coach scarf, but nanti bila dah dapat, I'll wear it, put on my sweetest smile, my matching sunglasses, and put my pic in here)

I am deeply saddened by the Bukit Antarabangsa news. As I'm typing this, I am looking out at the hills opposite my apartment, and praying that God will not let such a disaster occur. My condolences to all families whose loved ones had become victims of the Bukit Antarabangsa landslide.

Jo has left her nest

We came back last night, finding our neighbour's apartment empty. A peek at her dark and curtainless windows told us that she had left. We knew she was leaving, but we didnt know when, or where. I suppose after all that she went through, she just had to go without saying goodbye.

Jo, I wish you all the best in your new life. Wherever you've decided to stay, I know it will look lovely with all the plants, the wooden mirror and framed little kebayas you once had in your doorway.

And I pray a good person like you will find a good person to love.

I've seen the Kinabalu

Before this, mountain pics look the same to me, until I set foot in Sabah and witnessed Malaysia's very own Mount Kinabalu. We just stared at the peak, rocky and majestic, before it vanished into the clouds. In the backdrop of our photos, the mountain looked so magnificent and glorius.

We stayed at Kundasang, where the windows of our chalet faced the mountains, and then we ventured deeper into the interiors and got to Mesilau, which was exactly at the foot of Kinabalu, with a temperature of 18C even though it was already 11am.

I will always remember this trip, I love the the dinner we had at Ocean Seafood Village;

the lunch at Nasi Padang Ibu;

the Mesilau Nature Resort which was deep in the forest, with lodges and chalets looking so regal yet so romantic with the sounds of water in the background;

touching the cold, icy waters that rush down from the mountains...

I'm proud to say I've seen Gunung Kinabalu. I will definitely go back to Sabah, this time to conquer the Kinabalu!
